Dear Sasha,

You are one year old today! I can hardly believe how fast time has passed... you are such a big girl now, and you even took your first steps today! We are here at the beachhouse, so Grandma Rae got to see you walk and was here to celebrate with us. Grandpa Felix and Grandma Loretta are also here, so it's been a really special time for you. We took you out to dinner and all watched as you refused to even touch your little pink birthday cake. You did like it when we sang Happy Birthday to you, but then you fell asleep on Daddy's shoulder (so sweet). ♥

You've had so many firsts lately, and you definitely have quite the little personality. You love to growl (it's so funny), and you loooove to pull Daddy's hair while you growl! You also love to clap your hands, and you dance by swaying your head back and forth. You like to make clicking noises, and you purr on demand. You wave and blow kisses, and you giggle all the time. You are such a sweet, happy baby... and you are so very very beautiful. You are a girly girl too (just like your Mommy was). Your favorite place to play is in the cabinet where Sophie Lu keeps her tiaras and wands. You are still my tiny princess.

We all love you so very much... you are bring so much joy and laughter to our family. I thank God for you every day, my precious baby girl. Happy Happy 1st birthday!

Dear Sasha Lili,

You are 8 months old already, and just look at how beautiful you are. Your smile just melts my heart, and you are such a happy baby girl... you are my little sunshine!

You are so sweet and loving, and you are so very lovable. I must kiss you a million times a day- you have the sweetest cheeks and the softest hair- I just can't help myself. And your Daddy, well he's just smitten with you. He can't walk past you without picking you up (even when he's really busy). When you see him, you get so bashful... you tuck your head into my chest, and you smile from ear to ear- and then he takes you from me and you pull his hair with both hands! And Daddy lets you because it makes you so happy! Of course Mommy and Daddy love you to pieces, but your siblings adore you too. Even for their young ages, Sophie and Oliver are so enamored and protective of you. They want nothing more than to make you laugh and to shower you with kisses. It's sweet to see them treating you so gently and loving you with such tenderness. You love watching them play, and I know you just can't wait to be running around with them. Ollie especially likes to run around and act goofy to make you laugh. And you should see how your face lights up when Sophie Lu walks in from school- it's so very sweet!

You are such an easy baby- you love everything... well almost everything. You don't like three things: bathing, driving, or eating. I've been trying to feed you solids for almost 2 months now: applesauce, bananas, rice cereal, sweet potatoes, and avocado... but you always only want to nurse. But the other day, I handed you a teething cookie and you loved it! I should have known- you are my daughter after all (and I love cookies)! You still cry in the car, so I never go anywhere more than 5 minutes away. My heart can't stand to hear you cry, so it's just not worth it to me. I think it will be better when you can ride in a forward facing seat though. You also don't like taking baths! I suspect that will also change when the weather is warmer. I hope you learn to like water soon, because I have such cute little bathing suits for you this summer!

You love to sing and dance around with Mommy (and I love it too). You especially love it when I sing to you... your favorite songs are "Did You Ever See a Lassie", "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", and, of course, the "I Love Sasha" song! You love to play with toys... (and you love to chew on them as well)... You also love to pat your hands together. It's hard to describe how you do it, but it is the CUTEST thing in the world- I'll try to get it on video. :)

You are a big girl now- almost 20 pounds! That's how much Sophie Lu weighed at 13 months, and we thought she was huge then! Your eyes are still deep like the ocean... sometimes they still look blue, but it's hard to tell because they are so dark (and very beautiful). You have the most gorgeous lashes and eyebrows too. Your hair is medium golden blonde and just starting to get long enough to poke out over your ears. Pretty soon I'll be able to put little bows in your hair, but I bet you'll pull them right out because that's what you've just learned to do with your headbands and hats!

You're sitting up so confidently now and you even get on all fours like you'll be crawling any minute. And you have your first two bottom teeth coming in! You have the sweetest little voice- I love to hear you chatting away "Da da da" and "Da dee da"... just as happy as you can be! You are just such a big girl- I just can't believe how quickly these 8 months have passed!

I want to freeze time, because you are so very very perfect, but I know I can't. We'll go to sleep tonight- you right next to me, and you'll wake me in the morning by patting me with your sweet little hand... When I open my eyes, I'll see you smiling at me, and I'll be thankful for yet another day with you. My little miracle, my kitten, my tiny princess...

Dear Sasha,

My precious little baby- you are already 4 1/2 months old. Time is passing much too quickly. But with each day, you grow more beautiful; and every time I look at you, I see something new and amazing.

You smile all the time now- you smile and you laugh and giggle! No matter what is happening in my life or the world, your laughter warms my heart and renews my perspective. And your giggles are justso sweet!

You are getting so big! You weigh 14 1/2 pounds now- only one pound less than Baby Pumpkin Kitty (whom you've grown very fond of). You like to play with toys now, too! Your favorites are a little purple butterfly that makes a crunchy sound when you touch it and a Baby Einstein toy that lights up and plays classical music for you. You also love the sweet little pink bunny rattle that Sophie loved when she was a baby...

You've been trying real hard to get your thumb in your mouth- I think you're going to be a thumb-sucker (like Mommy was)! And sometimes you are able to get ahold of your foot... you look so proud when you do.

You are still my little Kitten, but now I have lots of nick-names for you. Mostly, I find myself calling you Sugarbear Blue or Kitty Cat Blue (probably because of your blue eyes). And what blue eyes they are! They are the darkest blue- like the deep blue ocean.

I love you so much, my tiny princess. Every moment with you is a gift. You are our little blessing.

Three things Sasha doesn't like... tummy time, baths, and the carseat. All things most babies like, right? My girl just has to be different, I suppose... I did just order this cool new baby WashPod which will hopefully make bathtime more enjoyable for her.

Sasha's skin in so soft, and she is so very cuddly. We've been having very very warm weather lately, so I've been taking advantage of it & getting some sweet little shots like these...

Three Months Old!

Dear Sasha Lili,

Today, you are three months old! I can hardly believe how quickly time is passing...

I love this picture of you... you are wearing my favorite sleeping gown. I love the little lamb because she reminds me of you... so sweet and pretty and soft. And you are also wearing the little white knit hat that I love you in so much. You are almost too big for it now, but I will keep it for you so you can see how tiny you once were. And just look at your smile! You are such a happy happy baby girl- always smiling and giggling... you just melt my heart. And your eyes- your big dark blue eyes are so very beautiful- they take my breath away. You take my breath away...

I remember after Sophie Lu came home, I would say that my heart was full. And it really was full. It's amazing how a heart can grow, though. Because mine has tripled in size since then, and sometimes I am overwhelmed with how much love I can feel...
